5 steps to better skin: How to wash your face the right way

wash your face the right way

Washing your face is the most important part of your skin care routine, and learning to wash your face the right way helps remove dead skin cells, makeup, and dirt, which can lead to clogged pores and acne. Washing your face also has an amazing effect on blood and circulation, which helps your skin retain lipids and nutrients. As we always say, good skin is the best foundation.

These five simple steps will help you maintain a simple and efficient skin care routine.

1. Only use cleanser once a day

Washing your face too frequently can strip your skin of it’s natural oils. When the natural oils are stripped, the skin loses its moisture barrier and becomes red, sensitive, and oily. Cleanse once at the end of the day to remove makeup and dirt. In the morning, rinse your face with warm water only to remove any extra skin product.

2. Buy a suitable cleanser

Most soaps are harsh on skin, so it’s important that you buy a suitable cleanser for your skin type. Cleansers suitable for dry skin contain lots of herbs and oils. Oil cleansers can also balance the production of oil for oily skin-types. If you buy a cleanser for sensitive skin, make sure that it doesn’t have a scent.

3. Use lukewarm water

Hot water will cause dryness and irritation, while  cold water, will not break down dirt and leave your skin dirty.

4. Clean your towels

If you use either a towel to clean your face or dry your face, make sure it’s clean. This will help prevent the spread of dirt and bacteria onto your face and skin.

5. Moisturize and Tone

What you put on your skin after cleansing is as important as cleansing itself. After cleaning your face, apply a water-based toner, followed by the right moisturizer for your skin type.
